Uzbekistan and Tajikistan may launch Tashkent-Dushanbe railway service
On June 2, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon held talks in Tashkent.
At the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan spoke about the importance of transport corridors in the Central Asian region.
“After the pandemic, we restored all forms of transport services, we have achieved agreements on using transport corridors,” Mirziyoyev said.
He then stressed the need to launch a train service between Tashkent and Dushanbe.
“We need to work on the launch of the Tashkent-Dushanbe railway service and discuss any relevant issues without further ado. There are a lot of untapped areas of cooperation and new opportunities to boost collaboration between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan,” the President of Uzbekistan noted.
