Muslim Board explains why the Hajj price has increased

The Muslim Board of Uzbekistan commented on the rumors surrounding the Hajj and provided information on what the price would cover.

The amount of payment for one pilgrim for the Hajj-2022 season is set at 62.9 million soums. The Muslim Board provided information on what is included in this fee.

It is noted that the Saudi government has introduced additional taxes and mandatory payments that affect the cost of the pilgrimage. In addition, the amount of payments for utilities, transport, electricity and other services has increased several times (30-40%).

In addition, in 2022, new mandatory payments will be introduced for the services of institutions that organize the Hajj. Therefore, the cost of Hajj services for the countries of the world has risen by an average of 40-45%.

The Uzbek side held talks with Saudi Arabia. As a result, it has achieved a luxury level of service for the price of an economical package for visitors and set a medium price to pay.

It is noted that in some countries the price of the most expensive packages is set at $25,000.

In addition, for the first time this season, Uzbeks will stay in the 5-star “Zam-Zam Pullman” and “Crown Plaza” hotels in Medina, at a distance of 100 meters from the Masjid al-Nabawi. In Mecca, they will stay at the “Abraj al-Hidoya” hotel.

“The duration of the pilgrimage of our country is 26 days, not 14, 17, 20 days, as in some neighboring countries. This, of course, has an impact on prices,” the Muslim Board said in a statement.

During the current Hajj season, according to the decision of the Saudi government, all payments were made not through companies, but through the “Electronic Portal of Hajj” of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia. This portal has a separate account for each state, and all services: hotels, transport, accommodation, etc. are carried out on the spot in a transparent manner without the human factor.
The mashair (Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifa) services have also increased significantly this season. Nevertheless, an economic package has been obtained and services that have not been previously provided have been achieved.

In particular, in the past, pilgrims used to sleep on carpets in the Mina Valley, but this year, special mattresses will be allocated for each pilgrim. In addition, hot meals are not served 3 times in other countries, but hot meals are served 3 times in Mina and Arafat. Besides, free medical care is provided 24 hours a day.

The amount paid for Hajj includes:

•  Hajj visa;
•  Air ticket;
•  Intercity (Medina-Mecca-Jeddah) transport service;
•  “Zam-Zam Pullman” and “Crown Plaza” hotels in Medina;
•  Visit to Mount Uhud, Quba and the two qibla mosques in Medina;
•  “Abraj al-Hidoya” hotel in Mecca;
•  All services in the Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa valleys;
•  24 hours medical care;
•  Medical insurance of pilgrims;
•  24 hour transportation service;
•  3 hot meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner;
•  Hajj Guide;
•  Belts and bags with state symbols;
•  “Zamzam” water (5 liters);
•  Observation and reception from 7 regions of the country;
•  Direct flights to Madinai Munawwara;
•  Sacrifice.

“As you can see from the above, a high level of service is planned for our pilgrims this year. All efforts and opportunities have been mobilized for this.

The goal is clear – to ensure the reliable and safe organization of the pilgrimage of our compatriots and the perfection of their prayers!” the report concludes.
