Period of stay of Uzbek citizens in Russia without registration extended from 7 to 15 days
On June 4, 2022, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on the procedure for the stay of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the territory of the Russian Federation and citizens of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan came into force (signed in Tashkent on June 17, 2021 and Moscow on May 21, 2021), the MFA Legal Department reported.

In accordance with Article 1 of the aforementioned Agreement, citizens of one side temporarily residing on the territory of the other side are exempted from the obligation to register (registration at the place of stay) with the competent authorities of the state of entry within 15 days.
The period of temporary stay is calculated from the date of entry of a citizen of the state of one party into the territory of the state of the other party, confirmed by a migration card stamped by the border control authorities (or a corresponding stamp in the passport), placed upon entry into the territory of the state of the other Party.
Thus, this Agreement fixes the extension of the period of stay of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the territory of the Russian Federation, which does not require registration (registration at the place of stay), from 7 to 15 days. For citizens of the Russian Federation staying on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, this period has been extended from 3 to 15 days.
In this regard, the MFA of the Republic of Uzbekistan recommends that citizens of both states comply with the laws of the host country and register with the competent authorities in a timely manner.
