Karakalpakstan’s status remains unchanged
Articles of the Constitution regarding the changes to the status of Karakalpakstan will not be amended.

This issue was considered on Monday, July 4, at an extraordinary general meeting of the Legislative Chamber.
According to the proposal of the president, the deputies approved removing the norms on changing the status of Karakalpakstan from the draft constitutional law. Accordingly, Articles 70, 71, 72, 74 and 75 of the Constitution will not change.
In addition, the members of the lower house also adopted the decision to extend the process of public discussion of the project until July 15.
