This was announced during a press conference in Nur-Sultan by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan Saidikram Niyazkhojaev, Orda reports.

“Over the past few days, from July 3 to July 5, those citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who were at the border checkpoint returned to their homeland. There were also women among them. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Samarkand have worked well,” Niyazkhojayev said.

Many of the Kazakhs who left Uzbekistan are already returning, the ambassador said.

Earlier, Tengrinews reported that for several days, citizens of Kazakhstan have been left stranded in Uzbekistan.

According to media reports, about 50 citizens of Kazakhstan have been at the border for the third day and cannot return to their homeland.

“Money is ending, food and drink are running out. We have nowhere to sleep. We don’t know whom to contact. We called the consulates of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, but no one can help,” the Kazakh citizens said.

Because of the heat, the children have a fever. Hoping for the best, people on the video turned to the President of Kazakhstan for help. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aibek Smadiyarov, assured that Kazakhstan is making every effort to resolve the current issue.

It should be recalled that the authorities of Uzbekistan have created an operational headquarters to help the citizens of Kazakhstan, who are currently in the territory of Karakalpakstan.
