Ministry of Defense denies rumors about repeated rocket fires from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan
Information about the alleged third rocket attack on the territory of Uzbekistan from Afghanistan has spread on social networks.
The Ministry of Defense has refuted the rumors and said: “This is a fake report.”
It is emphasized that the state border of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan is fully controlled by Uzbek military personnel, the situation is stable.
“In view of the foregoing, we ask citizens to rely only on official sources of information,” the message says.
It should be recalled that on July 5, five rockets were fired to the city of Termez, Surkhandarya region, from Afghanistan. Luckily, they didn’t explode and there were no casualties or injuries. Minor damage was caused to four private houses, one of the shells was found on the football field. The found shells were neutralized by sappers.
Later, the official representative of the Taliban government, Zabihullah Mujahid, said that on July 5, members of a criminal group that had shelled the city of Termez from Afghanistan were arrested.
