On July 19, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili, who is in our country on an official visit.
At the meeting, prospects for promoting joint projects and programs in the fields of transport and logistics, trade, and industrial cooperation were discussed.
Special attention was paid to the effective implementation of the transit capacity, including the infrastructure of Poti and Batumi ports in the transportation of our country’s cargo.

Taking into account the favorable conditions created in the free industrial zones of Uzbekistan and Georgia, it was shown that there are opportunities for the implementation of joint projects in textile, electrical engineering, food, pharmaceutical and other industries.
In addition, it was noted that both sides benefit from the activation of cultural-humanitarian exchange and the increase in the tourist flows.
It was agreed to hold the next meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission and to adopt a “roadmap” for further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.
