Mandatory school uniform requirement postponed until 2025
From the new academic year, September 2022, there will be no mandatory requirement for parents to purchase a uniform, and no objections will be made to students who do not come to school in a uniform.
Minister of Public Education Bakhtiyor Saidov issued a statement regarding the introduction of a school uniform for general education schools.

According to the minister, school uniforms will be gradually introduced until 2025, taking into account the need for some time for the adaptation process.
“From the new academic year, September 2022, parents will not be required to purchase a uniform, and no objections will be raised against students who do not come to school in a uniform,” said the minister.
Low-income families will be provided by local governments with additional resources from the local budget, as well as assistance from the so-called “Iron book”, and “Youth book” funds to purchase school uniforms.
“Also, I would like to emphasize to our parents that the school administration will not force them to buy school uniforms from any businessman/enterprise, and such a situation will not be allowed,” added the minister.
