Transport Ministry refutes Senate report on looting and illegal spending of more than $3.1 million budget funds
To clarify the situation, a request was sent to the State Financial Control Inspectorate.
Earlier on July 29, at the joint meeting of the defense and security committees of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate, the State Financial Control Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance noted that in 2021-2022, 34 billion 575 million soums of budget funds were spent ineffectively and illegally by the road industry officials in 45 cases.
The Ministry of Transport refuted this information and sent a request to the State Financial Control Inspectorate asking them to clarify the report on inefficient use of funds.
According to the ministry, 12.1 billion soums (36% of 34.5 billion soums) concerns enterprises and facilities that are not related to the road infrastructure of the republic.
The remaining amount, 22.4 billion soums, has not been confirmed.
It is noted that the identified shortcomings related to the implementation of road works in the amount of 6.6 billion soums were completely eliminated during the audit and formalized with the relevant documents.
