Statistics Committee names provinces with highest twin births
In July 2022, 79.7 thousand births were registered in the republic.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 1,920 of them were either twins or triplets.
The largest number of twins was recorded in Samarkand – 239, followed by Fergana (212) and Kashkadarya (198 people) regions.
The number of twin births in other provinces in July:
- Republic of Karakalpakstan - 72;
- Andijan region - 152;
- Bukhara region - 104;
- Jizzakh region - 91;
- Navoi region - 71;
- Namangan region - 180;
- Surkhandarya region - 145;
- Syrdarya region - 36;
- Tashkent region - 186;
- Khorezm region - 77;
- Tashkent city - 157.
