Minister Toshkulov speaks about admission to medical universities on a “super-contract” basis

According to the minister of higher education, an applicant without sufficient knowledge can be enrolled in a university on a “super-contract” basis, but he cannot graduate. He claimed that the credit-module system could eliminate corruption in education and asked the public to wait for 1 year to see the result. “This year we will work only on quality. There will be results. You hear how many percent of students did not graduate, and how many percent of them were enrolled under super-contracts,” Abdukodir Toshkulov said.

The Minister of Higher Education, Abdukodir Toshkulov, answered the question that applicants who scored very low marks in the entrance exams are also enrolled in medical and architectural universities on the basis of a “super-contract”, which can be dangerous, Kun.uz correspondent reported.

“For some reason, you do not trust Uzbekistan’s higher education at all. It is becoming more and more difficult to study in the Medical Academy and medical institutions of higher education that you mentioned. Demands are increasing. Foreign education programs are being used. Curricula, study programs, credit module...

An applicant with in sufficient knowledge can pay the super contract, but he cannot graduate.

That’s why I appealed to parents today, if you believe that your child will be able to study tomorrow, pay the super contract. In the credit module, you cannot transfer your child from course to course by calling your acquaintances.

I’ll tell you the truth, I’m a minister, I don’t interfere if I’m requested, and I’m sure that even if I do, nothing will come of it. A platform is working on the credit-module system, it is gradually being automated.

Give us a year for these processes to see the quality of education. This year, our honorable president has taken away from us all the work that is not typical for us, this year we will work only on quality. There will be results. You will hear how many percent of students did not graduate, and how many percent of them were super-contracts,” Toshkulov said at a press conference on September 9.
