Vladimir Norov confirmed as an FM, Sardor Umurzakov names the tasks before Uzbek diplomacy

In connection with the confirmation of Vladimir Norov as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, a meeting was held at the Ministry with the participation of the head of the presidential administration, Sardor Umrzakov. According to Kun.uz,   it was noted at the meeting that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is worried about the main problems facing Uzbek diplomacy.

According to the presidential decree, Vladimir Norov was confirmed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Kun.uz was informed that on September 9, the head of the presidential administration, Sardor Umurzakov, introduced the minister to the MFA team. 

According to Umurzakov, Vladimir Norov’s long-term experience was taken into account when he was appointed to this position.

Some critical issues were also discussed at the meeting. In particular, Sardor Umurzakov noted that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is worried about the main problems facing Uzbek diplomacy.

The main tasks of Uzbek diplomacy are to identify external threats in advance, to take appropriate diplomatic measures against them, to expand trade-economic and investment relations with foreign partner countries, and to protect the rights of compatriots abroad.

Also, relevant instructions were given on the high-level holding of the largest international events expected to be held in Uzbekistan - the SCO summit in September and the summits of the Organization of Turkic States in November.

It should be recalled that Vladimir Norov was appointed acting minister of foreign affairs in April this year.
