Egypt eyes to import textile products from Uzbekistan

A preliminary agreement on cooperation was reached between the Egyptian company and the textile enterprises of Uzbekistan.

Reportedly, with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the head of Lotus Garment Group of Egypt Khusam Gabr held online talks with representatives of major textile companies in Uzbekistan. 

In addition, a dialogue of the head of the Egyptian company with officials of the country’s several regions and leaders of textile enterprises was organized.

Khusam Gabr informed that Lotus Garment Group was founded in 1994. The enterprise mainly produces ready-made clothes from denim fabrics, the products are sold in the US and European markets. The company employs more than 11,000 workers in Port Said and 10-Ramazan industrial zones. The monthly need for textile products and yarn is 500-600 tons.  

The head of Lotus Garment Group stated that he intends to import textile products produced in Uzbekistan due to their good quality. According to the request of the Egyptian side, it was agreed to deliver samples of the products produced by Uzbek enterprises to the address of Lotus Garment Group in the next few days, and after conducting the relevant technical tests, it was agreed to reach a conclusion on the price, export volume and conditions, and sign the relevant legal documents.
