38 people involved in mass riots in Karakalpakstan released from custody
In October of this year, another 38 suspects were returned to their families in Karakalpakstan on the basis of public guarantee, the Ombudsman press service reported.
Reportedly, in the course of studying citizens’ appeals, the commission formed a second list of suspects who regret their actions and are in a difficult social situation, and appropriate measures were taken to return them to their families.
As a result of the work done, in October 2022, 38 more suspects were returned to their families on the basis of public guarantee.
On October 13 this year, at the suggestion of the commission members investigating the events in Karakalpakstan, and at the request of Jokargy Kenes, the PGO returned 16 suspects to their families on the basis of public guarantee.
In addition, on October 12, 22 suspects were also released on public bail.
