Court sentences a girl to 5-day imprisonment for joking about a bomb at metro station
The Shaykhantakhur district court on criminal cases qualified the 19-year-old girl’s inappropriate joke as petty hooliganism and deliberately deceiving the special services. For this action, she was sentenced to a 5-day administrative imprisonment and a fine of 300,000 soums.
On October 22, at the “Alisher Navoi” metro station of Tashkent, a 19-year-old girl told a police officer performing his duty at the subway that there was a bomb in her bag when he was inspecting it.
According to the Department of Security at Transport and Tourism Facilities, when the girl said she had a bomb in her bag, the area was cordoned off and a team from the MIA Special Operations Coordination Department arrived at the scene. When the officer in charge asked the girl why she lied about a bomb in her bag, the young girl said that she decided to make a joke because she was in a good mood. After that, the girl was taken to the internal affairs department No. 3 of the capital’s Shaykhantakhur district.
Pokiza Khodjayeva, the head of the information service of the Ministry of Transport and Tourism, informed Kun.uz that the girl’s actions were declared a violation by the decision of the Shaykhantakhur district court. She was found guilty by the court decision under Article 183 (Petty hooliganism) and Article 199 (Intentionally deceiving special services) of the Administrative Responsibility Code. The culprit was imprisoned for 5 days.
In addition, according to the court’s decision, the girl was imposed a fine in the amount of 1 BCA (300,000 soums).
On October 22, a girl, who was stopped at an automatic checkpoint at the “Alisher Navoi” metro station of Tashkent, told a police officer that there was a bomb in her bag, but no explosive device was found in it during the inspection.
