Reportedly, on August 28 of this year, D. Makhmudova and a total of 7 citizens of Uzbekistan, accompanied by her, applied to the consular section of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India for help in returning home. The embassy provided appropriate consular-legal assistance to these citizens. In particular, based on the fact that these citizens do not have a place to live and are in a difficult financial situation, shelter was provided in cooperation with the NGO “Empowering Humanity” in Delhi.

According to the embassy, women are provided three hot meals in their current shelter. On the other hand, taking into account that the citizens who applied did not have IDs, they were issued a certificate of return to the homeland.

Allegedly, the above-mentioned citizens have illegally entered the territory of India and violated the rules of stay in the country.

At the same time, relevant investigations and court proceedings are being conducted by Indian law enforcement agencies on the case of D. Makhmudova and her companions. For this reason, a temporary restriction was placed on their exit from the territory of this country. In its statement, the embassy informed that after the completion of these legal processes, the above citizens will be returned to Uzbekistan as soon as possible.

It should be recalled that the women who sent the video message said that they were sold to A.J. from Turkmenistan and their passports were forcibly seized.
