Law enforcement bodies detain man who promised help with obtaining a US visa for $30,000
The suspect offered help with paperwork through his acquaintances working at the US Embassy in Tashkent.
In the course of a mobile operation carried out by the Yukorichirchik district department of the Prosecutor General’s Office together with the State Security Service, the man was detained red-handed.
Reportedly, he promised help with obtaining a US visa through his contacts at the embassy and demanded $30,000 for his “service”. He was caught while receiving $10,000 of the agreed amount.
On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under articles 168 (fraud) and 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, investigative actions are underway.
