Wizz Air may launch direct flights between Uzbekistan and European countries

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Hungary (with residence in Vienna) Abat Fayzullaev held a meeting in Budapest with the leadership of Wizz Air.
According to Dunyo information agency, the parties discussed Wizz Air’s entry into the Uzbek market and the possibility of establishing direct flights between European countries and cities of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that from December 13 of this year, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will begin flights on the Abu Dhabi-Samarkand route.
It was emphasized that one of the strategic goals of the airline is the opening of direct flights between the major cities of Hungary and Uzbekistan.
During the talks, an agreement was reached on organizing a trip to Tashkent for a delegation headed by Wizz Air CEO József Váradi in November and holding meetings with the heads of the competent authorities of Uzbekistan.
A delegation of Wizz Air specialists will visit Samarkand as part of the Hungarian delegation participating in the summit of the Organization of Turkic States in November this year and will take part in a business forum organized there.
