Ministry of Energy gives reason for power outages
Deputy Minister of Energy Sherzod Khodjayev stated the reason for power outages at an AIMC press conference.
Today, November 16, a press conference was held at AIMC on the issue of providing consumers with energy resources in the autumn-winter season, the problems in this regard, and the urgent tasks ahead. In it, Deputy Minister of Energy Sherzod Khodjayev explained the reason for power outages.
“The reason for power outages is not because of outdated or insufficient equipment. Rather, it is because of a lack of fuel for power generation at our stations. For example, 90% of the available electricity in Uzbekistan is produced at thermal power stations. About 85% of this is fueled by natural gas.
For example, until 2016, one modern steam-gas thermal power station was built in Uzbekistan - in 2012, at the Navoi thermal power station. But after 2016, one steam-gas plant was built in Navoi, two in Tallimarjon, two in Turakurgan power station, two in Takhiyatosh power station and one in Tashkent power station. All this was built at the expense of state investment,” Sh. Khodjayev said.
