Samarkand to host first forum of women leaders of parliaments of Arab and Muslim countries
The Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva, who is in Egypt to participate in the 27th conference of the participants of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is being held in Sharm El Sheikh, met with the Chairperson of the Egyptian Senate Abdulwahab Abdurraziq in Cairo.
A number of issues related to bilateral relations, development of trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and parliamentary cooperation were discussed there.
Abdulwahab Abdurraziq noted that in recent years, mutual relations have risen to a new, higher level, and great practical results are being achieved in various fields. The initiative to hold the first forum of women leaders of parliaments of Arab and Muslim countries, which is planned to be held in Samarkand in 2023, was supported.
In addition, the importance of strengthening the legal basis of relations between the parties and developing inter-parliamentary dialogue was noted. In the dialogue, it was noted that the issue of comprehensive support for socially needy segments of the population, women and youth is one of the priority areas of state policy in both countries.
