Uzbekistan increases pipeline gas supplies to China
The cost of pipeline gas supplies from Uzbekistan to China in January-October 2022 amounted to $916.7 million, which is 52.5% more compared to the same period in 2021.
According to TASS, in the online system of the General Customs Administration of China, the physical volume of imported pipeline gas in recent months is not given. The corresponding column remains empty for all supplier countries.
As the department informed, among the states supplying fuel to China through the gas pipeline, Turkmenistan continues to occupy the first place: for 10 months, deliveries from this country amounted to $8.23 billion (plus 53% year on year).
Russia takes second place. The cost of pipeline gas supplies from Russia to China in January-October 2022 amounted to $3.1 billion, which is 182% more compared to the same period in 2021.
Myanmar follows next ($1.13 billion, minus 2.6%). Fourth place is taken by Kazakhstan ($996.5 million, plus 15.2%) and fifth – by Uzbekistan ($916.7 million, plus 52.5%).
In the meantime, the Energy Ministry of Uzbekistan has recently said that the country lacks gas resources to produce electricity and warned citizens of possible power outages.
