17-year-old girl dies in rented apartment in Karshi; possibly from carbon monoxide poisoning
The girl, who lived in the Koson district, attended one of the educational courses in the city of Karshi and lived in the apartment where her body was found.
Social network users have circulated reports that a student girl died from carbon monoxide poisoning in her rented house in the city of Karshi. The spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office of Kashkadarya region, Sohibjon Gaybullaev, informed Kun.uz about the incident.
According to the official, on the morning of November 20, 2022, the body of the girl born in 2005 was found in the bathroom of one of the apartments in Karshi city.
According to the preliminary inquiry, the girl living in the Koson district studied at one of the educational centers in the city of Karshi and lived on rent in the apartment where her body was found.
Gaybullaev said that the Karshi City Prosecutor’s Office is currently conducting preliminary investigations.
It is suspected that the girl died from smoke inhalation. Expertise has been appointed regarding the situation. According to its conclusions, the cause of the girl’s death will be clarified.
"When the cold season begins in Uzbekistan, cases of carbon monoxide poisoning occur. In most cases, gas poisoning is caused by poor cleaning of the chimney of heating furnaces or negligence in the installation of such appliances. We ask citizens to be careful when using heating stoves and chimneys,” says Sohibjon Gaybullaev.
Earlier, three people died in Jizzakh and two in Khorezm due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Three of them were minors.
