Foreign Minister of Slovenia to pay a visit to Uzbekistan in 2023

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Anna Fajon in Lodz.

During the dialogue, detailed views were exchanged on the development of interstate cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, cooperation within the framework of international organizations. The schedule and organizational aspects of future dialogues, the planned visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia to Uzbekistan in 2023 were considered.

The ministers noted the need to continue the practice of inter-Ministerial political consultations, which allow for the discussion of a wide range of issues. The trade-economic and investment sphere is a priority area of bilateral cooperation. The parties expressed their interest in expanding investment relations in the fields of electronics, pharmaceuticals and chemical, metallurgical industries.

Current regional issues and the current situation in Afghanistan were discussed during the talks. The Slovenian side was informed about the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to form a high-level international negotiating team to prepare and agree on an algorithm for the step-by-step implementation of the parties' obligations with the Afghan government.
