Uzbekistan’s debt to Russia up by 77 percent

In 2021, Uzbekistan’s debt to the Russian Federation increased immediately by 77 percent, to $254.7 million.

Minsk’s debt to Moscow increased by 1.9 percent over the year, to $8.5 billion. Bangladesh ranks second with a debt of $4.4 billion, almost a third more than a year earlier. The third place was taken by India – its debt increased by 11.7 percent to $3.3 billion, RIA Novosti writes.

Next comes Vietnam, whose debt rose by 0.9 percent over the year, to $1.5 billion. Yemen climbed to fifth place (1.17 billion), while Afghanistan was in the sixth position with $1.16 billion.

Uzbekistan’s debt grew the most over the past year – by 77 percent, to $254.7 million.

Egypt’s debt increased by 63.7 percent, to $867.2 million. Pakistan increased borrowing by 20.8 percent to $86.7 million.

In general, in 2021, 38 countries owed Russia.
