Russian Railways extends discount for transportation of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan
A 50% discount for Uzbekistan Railways on deliveries to Russia is valid from 2021.
Russian Railways decided to extend a 50% discount on the transportation of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan, the news agency RJD-Partner.ru reported with reference to the company.
A 50% discount on the transportation of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan, as well as Tajikistan, is extended for the whole of 2023. In addition, Russian Railways extended a number of discounts for transportation to other domestic and foreign destinations.
A 50% discount on the import transportation of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to Russia in refrigerated rolling stock owned by Uzbekistan Railways and Rokhi Okhani Tochikiston was valid from January 1, 2021.
According to the State Statistics Committee, over the 11 months of this year, Uzbekistan exported almost 1.6 million tons of fruits and vegetables worth $1.03 billion. The main export direction is Russia, which accounts for almost half of the total volume in value terms - more than $456.9 (44.3%). Kazakhstan is in the second place with $199.3 million (19.3%). China ($87.4 million), Pakistan ($77 million) and Kyrgyzstan ($40.8 million) are far behind.
Earlier, it was reported that since the beginning of the year, Uzbekistan has significantly increased the export of wine to Russia.
