“Electricity equal to monthly consumption of more than 177,000 households was used illegally In December” – Ministry of Energy
In December 2022, cases of illegal use of electricity worth 15.7 billion soums, or equivalent to monthly consumption of more than 177 thousand households, were detected in Uzbekistan, the press service of the Energy Ministry reports.
Illegal use of 35.5 million kWh of electricity was detected in 719 cases during the control activities conducted by the ministerial working group. As a result, the system was caused damage in the amount of 15.7 billion soums. This amount of electricity is equal 1-week electricity consumption of consumers of Sirdarya region.
The most cases of illegal use have been recorded in Andijan, Kashkadarya, Samarkand and Tashkent regions.
In particular, recalculation works in the amount of 2.3 billion soums were carried out at the “Maroqand sifat tekstil” LLC in Samarkand region, 1.4 billion soums at the “Spring Kolours Industriy” LLC in Tashkent region, 684.17 million soums at the F.X.S. LLC in Andijan city.
Actions were taken against the violating consumers in the prescribed manner, and relevant documents were submitted to the law enforcement agencies.
