Uzbekistan, Iran discuss developing new international transport corridors
Acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with Iranian Ambassador Hamid Nairabadi, Dunyo reports.
It was noted with satisfaction at the meeting that Uzbek-Iranian relations have been developing at a completely new pace in recent years. During the official visit of the President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi to Uzbekistan in September 2022, the importance of the full implementation of the agreements reached was emphasized.
The parties exchanged views on the schedule of dialogues at the bilateral level and within the framework of regional organizations.
Saidov and Nairabadi noted that Uzbekistan and Iran have similar positions regarding the Afghan issue.
The sides voiced readiness to promote joint projects in the trade and economic spheres.
Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in the field of transport, including the development of new international transport corridors, taking into account the interests of the two countries.
