More than 17,000 staff positions to be cut in state institutions

Allegedly, a total of 17,447 units of managerial and production personnel financed from budgetary and non-budgetary funds (24% of the total) are being reduced in ministries and departments.

Including the number of deputy heads of ministries and departments is reduced from 207 to 144 (-63) or by 30%. Also, according to preliminary estimates, 703 service vehicles and 10 buildings are being released.

As a result of these measures, the authorities will save:

- 1.5 trillion soums by reducing the number of states;
- 70 billion soums by reducing the number of vehicles (including the cost of fuel, oil, tire replacement, etc.).

The total limited number of employees of ministries and departments is set at 56,573 people.

It is strictly forbidden to introduce additional staff positions at the expense of non-budgetary funds of ministries and departments.
