Uzbeks purchased $8.9 billion from banks in 2022
During the reporting period, the population sold $11.9 billion to commercial banks.
Last year, individuals purchased foreign currency in the amount of $8.9 billion, which is 1.9 times higher than the figures for the same period in 2021 ($4.6 billion).
In general, the sale of foreign currency by individuals to banks exceeded the purchase by about $3 billion.
“This, in turn, served as an additional source of supply in the domestic foreign exchange market,” the Central Bank said.
