Presidential decree: Additional funds will be allocated to the mahallas of Tashkent city
On February 9, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree “On urgent measures to solve the socio-economic tasks of the city of Tashkent and to improve the well-being of the population”.
An interest-free loan in the amount of 584 billion soums will be allocated to the Tashkent city administration for the development of the infrastructure of the mahallas of Tashkent, the repair and improvement of internal roads, sidewalks, engineering and communication facilities in the mahallas that were affected during the period of sudden cooling of the air temperature.
The city administration will allocate an additional 1 billion soums to each mahalla of Tashkent from these loan funds.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the city administration must return 200 billion soums from additional resources of the local budget, and the remaining 384 billion soums – in the fourth quarter of the following year in equal shares.
People’s deputies will discuss and approve the list of projects that should be used by district governments together with the mahalla chairmen at the meetings of district councils.
