Fraudster who attempted to send a family to USA for $40,000 detained in Syrdarya

He gained the trust of a citizen and promised to send him and his wife to the United States with the help of his acquaintances.

A fraudster who promised to send a family from Syrdarya region to the United States of America was arrested, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

O.A., who was convicted for extortion and other crimes in the Syrdarya region, earned the trust of citizen B.J., promised to send him and his wife to the United States with the help of his acquaintances for $40,000. He was caught red-handed while receiving $12,000 in advance for his “service”.

On the above fact, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 168 (fraud) and Article 28, 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
