Sergei Lavrov to visit Uzbekistan
On April 14, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will take part in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS countries, which will be held in Samarkand. This was announced on Wednesday at a briefing by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
“On April 14, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will take part in a regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS. This event will take place in Samarkand,” TASS writes citing Zakharova as saying.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that during the meeting, the heads of foreign ministries will exchange views on topical international and regional issues, discuss promising areas for the development of multifaceted cooperation within the CIS and sum up the results of inter-MFA cooperation in 2022.
“It is planned to pay special attention to international security issues, as well as strengthening ties in law enforcement, cultural, humanitarian and educational fields,” Zakharova added.
