Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan discuss restoring work of two border posts
Tashkent hosted the third meeting of the Uzbek-Turkmen joint intergovernmental commission on water management.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the system of joint management of Amudarya water resources, the automation of data exchange and the restoration of the work of two border posts: "Tallimarjon-Tallymerdjen" and "Drujba-Gazodjak".
In addition, the sides considered the issuance of entry visas to the territory of Turkmenistan to foreign specialists for reducing water loss by strengthening the Amudarya banks and its riverbeds, and for taking measures for unhindered passage of water, building a wall against water filtration at the Sultansanjar Dam and capital restoration of the Karshi Pumping Station Cascade" (Phase-3).

Following the talks, the parties agreed to hold the next meeting of the intergovernmental joint commission on water management in 2024 in Turkmenabad, Turkmenistan.
