CEC announces preliminary results of referendum
According to preliminary data, more than 15 million citizens, or 90.21 percent of those who took part in the referendum, voted in favor of introducing changes to the Constitution.
A briefing was held at the CEC press center with the participation of the CEC Deputy Chairman Bakhrom Kuchkorov. It provided information about the voting process in the referendum and announced the preliminary results.
According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), 16,673,189 people or 84.54% of the total number of voters took part in the referendum.
Over 15 million people or 90.21% of the total number of participants voted in favor of introducing amendments and addenda to the Constitution; over 1.5 million people or 9.35% voted against.
