President Mirziyoyev visits IBA World Boxing Championships final, congratulates Dusmatov and Jalolov on victory
On May 13, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the 2023 IBA Men's World Boxing Championships final at Humo Arena, watched the bouts and personally congratulated the winners.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Humo Arena sports palace and watched the world boxing championships final.
More than 600 boxers from 107 countries took part in the competition. The national team of Uzbekistan participated in all 13 weight categories. The hosts have won 9 medals so far.
On May 13, the head of state watched the final fights with the participation of boxers from Uzbekistan. Three Uzbek athletes, Asadkhoja Moydinkhojaev, Hasanboy Dusmatov and Bakhodir Jalolov, won gold medals defeating their opponents.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev handed over medals and championship belts to the winners. They are also given prize money allocated by the International Boxing Association (IBA).
On the last day of the competition, four more boxers from Uzbekistan will enter the ring. The tournament will end on May 14.
