Three more Russian universities to open branches in Uzbekistan
It is planned to open branches of the leading higher educational institutions of the Russian Federation in the country and to increase the quotas for Uzbek students studying in Russia.

Branches of three leading higher education institutions of Russia will be opened in Uzbekistan. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Galuzin, at the III Central Asian conference of the “Valday” international discussion club on the topic “Russia and Central Asia: interaction with the changing world”.
It is planned to open branches of the following higher educational institutions in Uzbekistan: Russian State Humanities University, Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography, and North Caucasus Federal University.
Study quotas for citizens of Central Asian countries in Russia will also be expanded.
“In the 2023-2024 academic year, we have significantly increased the education quota for citizens of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan – 200 seats each, Uzbekistan – 50 seats, and Tajikistan – plus 152 places,” Mikhail Galuzin said.
According to him, about 185,000 students from Central Asian countries are currently studying in Russia, of which about 68,000 are financed from the Russian budget.
