The press service of UzAuto Motors commented on reports on social networks about the expected increase in prices for some car models.

According to publications in some Telegram channels, the concern allegedly plans to introduce updated versions of the Chevrolet Cobalt and Lacetti sedans, as well as the Damas minivan and the Labo small truck on June 1. According to their version, the price of Cobalt is supposed to be raised to $20,000, Lacetti – to $23,000.

“UzAuto Motors did not give any official information on this matter. These data and statements are unfounded and false,”the company said.

Bloggers were urged to avoid publishing false data and to be guided by “law and common sense”. Official information about the company’s plans, including product prices, is published on official channels, UzAuto Motors stressed.

The automaker has stopped selling popular models – Cobalt, Lacetti, Damas, Labo – since December 2022. As it became known from the presentation of the company before the IPO, in the coming years it is planned to remove the Lacetti from production and replace the Cobalt with a restyled version.

In January, the company put the contracting and delivery of all cars on pause for almost two weeks, explaining it with technical work. From January 17, deliveries under already executed contracts resumed.

On January 26, the automaker restarted sales of four premium segment models, as well as the Tracker crossover launched last summer. In February, serial production of a new model, the Onix sedan, also started.

The contracting of both models was temporarily interrupted in early May. On May 13, the company announced the imminent start of their production in new trim levels – Redline and Plus.
