In Syrdarya, the necessary equipment for a car manufacturing plant under the Chinese Exeed brand was brought to the region. Akmaljan Mahmudaliev, governor of Syrdarya region, informed Kun.uz about this at the business forum held in Xi’an, China.
An Uzbek-Chinese business forum was also held in the city of Xi’an, where President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is visiting as part of his state visit to China.
Akmaljon Mahmudaliev, the governor of Syrdarya region, who talked to the Kun.uz reporter during the forum, said that during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Syrdarya region in April, directions for turning the region into an innovative area, developing technology parks in every district and city, introducing Chinese experience in this process have been defined.
As a result of the ongoing negotiations, the current value of the $520 million projects in cooperation between China and the Syrdarya region has been increased to $1.5 billion or almost 3 times by the end of the forum, the governor said. According to him, these projects will be implemented in 2023-2025.
Akmaljon Mahmudaliev also spoke about the start of car production in Sirdarya region.
“The work has been initiated. From the end of this month, Chinese Exeed brand cars will be produced in Syrdarya,” he said.
Also, the head of the region announced that the Chinese experience will be studied and put into practice regarding the application of scientific approaches to fight against poverty.
