People’s Democratic Party approves its candidate for presidency of Uzbekistan and his program
If Ulugbek Inoyatov is elected as president, he promises to give local investors the same benefits as foreign investors, introduce a “school tax” and a tax on valuable property, expand the list of activities that do not require the establishment of a legal entity, and install traffic lights on pedestrian crossings.
Today, May 29, the XIII Congress of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent.
On the agenda of the congress, the issues of nomination of a candidate for the presidency of Uzbekistan from the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzPDP) and his program were discussed.
The issue of nominating a candidate for the presidency of Uzbekistan from the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan was discussed in detail at the congress. At the plenum of the Central Council of the Party held on May 12 of this year, it was decided to put forward the candidate of the Chairman of the UzPDP Central Council, the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, Ulugbek Inoyatov.
After that, in accordance with the Electoral Code, the authorized representative of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan submitted documents to the Central Election Commission asking for permission to participate in the presidential election of Uzbekistan. Having studied the documents, the CEC allowed the UzPDP to participate in the presidential election on July 9, 2023.
Party activists who spoke supported Ulugbek Inoyatov’s candidacy. After discussions on the issue of the candidate at the congress, a decision was made to nominate Ulugbek Inoyatov from the UzPDP as a candidate for the presidential election of Uzbekistan.
The program of the candidate for the presidency of Uzbekistan from the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan was also discussed at the congress. The main goal of the candidate’s program is to establish a democratic social state in the country that meets the criteria of social justice, social equality and people's power, the official report reads.
It is noted that the program includes about 100 proposals and initiatives in the areas of development of the state and society, ensuring equal rights and opportunities, conducting a strong social policy.
The program of the candidate for the presidency of Uzbekistan from the People’s Democratic Party was also approved at the congress.
