Road accident claims lives of 4 people in Urgut

On June 8, 2023, at 19:30, a traffic accident occurred on the 1121st kilometer of the M-39 highway passing through the territory of the Omonkuton mahalla of the Urgut district.

According to the Samarkand regional DIA, the driver lost control over his Cobalt car while driving along the Urgut-Karshi direction and collided with the Kamaz truck moving from the opposite side of the road.

As a result, the driver of Cobalt and three passengers died on spot. The driver of Kamaz has been admitted to the Urgut district medical association, where doctors are providing him with emergency medical care.

On this fact, on June 8, a criminal case was initiated by the district DIA under Article 266-3 (Violation of the safety rules for the use of vehicles), Part 3, Paragraph “a” (death of people; accident; other serious consequences) of the Criminal Code.
