Liability for misappropriation of state budget funds increasing
The Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms has preliminary considered the issues that are planned to be included in the agenda of the next plenary session of the Senate.
The Law “On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with further improvement of the activities of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan” and the Law “On amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On state duty” were considered.
First, members of the Committee discussed the Law “On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with further improvement of the activities of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan”. It was noted that this Law is aimed at further improving the efficiency of the correct and efficient organization of the activities of the Accounts Chamber, establishing systemic control over its budgetary funds.
The law includes additional provisions in the Administrative Responsibility Code to ensure targeted spending of the State budget and increase the responsibility of managers. In particular, an administrative fine is imposed by the Accounts Chamber
in the event of detection of petty theft of property of budgetary organizations, recipients of budgetary funds, state trust funds and other funds created in the prescribed manner by misappropriation or embezzlement.
Members of the Committee also considered the Law “On amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the state duty”. According to the new rule, the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights and its territorial bodies are exempted from paying state fees when applying to courts.
