Shavkat Mirziyoyev takes an oath of office as the President of Uzbekistan
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who was re-elected as the President of Uzbekistan in early elections held on July 9, took an oath of office at the joint session of Oliy Majlis chambers on Friday.

In the elections, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, nominated as a candidate from the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, received 87.05% of votes.
The inauguration took place in the Senate building. Before the start of the ceremony, the standard (flag) and the symbol of the president were brought to the Senate meeting hall.
At the joint meeting of the lower and upper chambers of the parliament, the chairman of the Central Election Commission Zayniddin Nizomkhodjayev handed over the presidential certificate to Shavkat Mirziyoev.
Then Shavkat Mirziyoev took the oath. The President said the following words: "I solemnly swear to serve the people of Uzbekistan faithfully, to strictly observe the Constitution and laws of the republic, to guarantee the rights and freedoms of citizens, and to conscientiously fulfill the duties assigned to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
