Three people die from suffocation in a sewer well in Tashkent region
One of the dead, who was cleaning the well, lost consciousness due to poisonous gases. Three people who came down to help him also lost consciousness, two of them died on the spot.

On July 20, at about 10:30, 57-year-old employee of Toshkent Kommunal Qurilish Service LLC A.K., while cleaning a sewer well in the city of Nurafshan, Tashkent region, lost consciousness due to poisonous gases accumulated in the well.
23-year-old M.S., 55-year-old K.E. and 27-year-old Sh.B., who were nearby, climbed into the well to pull the victim out, but also lost consciousness.
As a result, three citizens died at the scene. Citizen Sh.B. was hospitalized in critical condition.
As the Prosecutor General’s Office reported, according to preliminary information from the Nurafshan city forensic medical examination on July 20, it was shown that the cause of death of three citizens was acute hydrogen sulfide poisoning, acute respiratory failure, and cardiovascular failure.
On the above fact, the investigative department of the Nurafshan city DIA initiated a criminal case under Paragraph “b”, Part 2 of Article 257 of the Criminal Code (Violation of labor protection rules that entailed other grave consequences), preliminary investigative actions are being carried out.
The city prosecutor’s office has established control over the course of the investigation, and the results will be announced in due time.
