“The soldier’s death is being investigated” – Military Prosecutor’s Office

The Republican Military Prosecutor’s Office informs that pre-investigation checks are being carried out in connection with the death of Shehroziddin Bahriddinov, who was serving in the MES military unit on June 27, 2023.

The pre-investigation check is being conducted by the Tashkent Military Prosecutor’s Office, the process is under the control of the Republican Military Prosecutor’s Office.

“This case will be fully and objectively investigated in all aspects. A legal decision will be made on the result of the pre-investigation check,” Sherzod Hayitov, senior assistant to the military prosecutor of the Republic, says.

The death certificate states that the cause of death of Shehroziddin Bahriddinov was unknown pneumonia. According to the report of the Center of Forensic Expertise of the Armed Forces, the 24-year-old soldier died as a result of multiple-organ failure caused by a number of diseases.

However, relatives of the soldier do not believe it. In an interview with Kun.uz, the relatives of the deceased said that the soldier’s commanders said that the soldier’s lungs were filled with water and pus, and when they spoke on the phone on June 24, they noted that there were no signs of illness in his voice, such as hoarseness or difficulty breathing. The soldier’s brother, Erkin Kodirov, is asking to show the video footage showing that his brother really fell unconscious in the line, as his commanders said, and then he was taken to the medical center of the military unit.
