MEPR names regions of Uzbekistan with highest level of poverty
The Republic of Karakalpakstan, Syrdarya and Khorezm regions have the highest level of poverty.

The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction has published statistics on the level of poverty in Uzbekistan.
According to the report, the Republic of Karakalpakstan had the highest level of poverty in the first half of the year – 19.7 percent. The next places are taken by Syrdarya (19.5 percent) and Khorezm (19.1 percent) regions.
Tashkent city (8.5 percent), Navoi (9.2 percent) and Bukhara (11.9 percent) regions topped the list of provinces with a low level of poverty.
It is noted that more than 1.3 million families are considered poor in Uzbekistan today, the poverty rate is 14.1 percent.
