Volume of remittances to Uzbekistan amounted to $5.2 billion in Jan-Jun 2023
In the first six months of this year, the volume of money transfers from abroad to Uzbekistan amounted to $5.2 billion. This is 21.2% less than the same period last year. This was announced during today’s press conference by the head of the Central Bank Mamarizo Nurmuratov.

According to him, in the second quarter, the volume of transfers from abroad almost halved compared to the previous year – from 5.06 to 2.85 billion dollars.
At the same time, in June, the dynamics of receipts worsened – the volume of transfers is 2.26 times lower than it was last year.
It also became known that Russia has become the main source of remittances. It accounted for about 80% of revenues.
It should be recalled that in January-April of this year, $3.1 billion were transferred to Uzbekistan.
According to the Central Bank, the volume of receipts through international money transfer systems in 2022 amounted to $16.9 billion, which is significantly more than in 2020 and 2021 (in 2020 – 6.0 billion and in 2021 – 8.1 billion).
