More than 870 people died in Uzbekistan due to road accidents over 6 months
Over the past six months of this year, about 4,000 car accidents happened in Uzbekistan.
On July 28, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a video selector meeting on the priority tasks of preventing violations and other types of crime in the regions. He noted that people are completely dissatisfied with the road safety situation.
At the meeting, it was stressed that in January-June of this year, about 4,000 car accidents happened in the country and 873 people died in them. The number of injured exceeded 3,500.
48 percent of accidents were caused by road infrastructure deficiencies. As a result of the lack of necessary conditions for pedestrians, 1,859 incidents involving them occurred this year, and 334 pedestrians died.
