The Tashkent City Police Department’s Investigation Directorate has launched a criminal case against the management of Imarat Development LLC, whose office is located on Buyuk Avlod Street in the Sergeli district of Tashkent.
According to the department’s press service, a group of citizens contacted law enforcement authorities, expressing distrust in the company’s activities and requesting legal action against its management.
An investigation found that the company had promised to build new residential properties in Tashkent. However, buyers later discovered that construction was actually taking place in the Quyi Chirchiq district of Tashkent region. They protested and demanded refunds, but their payments were not returned.
The case has been opened under two articles of Uzbekistan’s Criminal Code:
Article 168 – Fraud;
Article 192¹¹ – Abuse of authority by officials of a non-governmental commercial or other non-governmental organization.
The investigation is being overseen by the head of the Tashkent City Police Department and the prosecutor’s office. The department said a lawful decision would be made based on the findings of the investigation.
