“12 billion soums were stolen from citizens’ plastic cards” – Capital’s police department
An explanation was given regarding the arrival of persons wearing masks to the office of the foreign company Freedom Payments in Tashkent.
On August 3, persons wearing masks came to the office of the foreign company Freedom Payments in Tashkent. The Tashkent city police department provided official information about the case.
It is noted that a criminal case under Article 169 (“Theft”) of the Criminal Code is being investigated in connection with the theft of 12 billion soums from citizens’ plastic cards during the work of the Investigative Department of the Tashkent city DIA. In the course of the investigation, it was found out that the money on the plastic cards went to foreign countries through various payment systems.
“As part of this criminal case, an investigation was conducted at one of the capital’s payment system companies. During the investigation, no one was arrested, the responsible employees of the company were given an explanation about the situation,” the police department reported.
Earlier, Gazeta.uz wrote about masked people coming to the office of Freedom Payments foreign company in Tashkent. Allegedly, several employees who were in the office were arrested and their phones were confiscated.
