Aboveground stations of Tashkent metro named
By the decision of the government, a total of 19 stations of the Tashkent metro station were called by separate names instead of numbers. "Technopark", "Tuzel", "Rohat", "Choshtepa", "O'zgarish" are among the given names.
By the government decision No. 349 adopted on August 9, 19 stations of the aboveground metro ring road of the Tashkent metro "30th anniversary of the independence of Uzbekistan" were named.
Now 14 stations of the "Do'stlik - Qo'yliq" line, and 5 stations of the "Chilonzor" line in the "Olmazor - Sergeli" direction are called by the following names.
For information, in December, the Tashkent city administration launched the geonom.tashkent.uz website, and through it, citizens' suggestions on choosing names for the newly built 19 metro stations of the capital began to be collected.
On December 19, the process was completed, about 2,000 proposals were sorted by a special working group, and three names were selected for each station.
According to the information, the working group of famous scientists, historians, philologists, toponymists and other field specialists, media representatives, bloggers under the Ministry of Transport, based on the requirements of the law "On the names of geographical objects" and in accordance with the established rules for writing toponyms in the state language, chose the most suitable name for each station among the received proposals.
Later on April 4-18, voting for station names was also held. According to the results of the voting on the names of metro stations, it was decided to prepare relevant proposals for the Ministry of Transport and then submit them to the Cabinet of Ministers for decision.
